los nortenos
Directions from TAMU: Prices: Veggie-friendly? Notes Additional note: it's been a while since I've eaten here but I've found half the people I know love it and half the people I know think it's just good. I've noticed that there is a large preponderance of vegetarians among those who love it. I don't know what the vegetarian selections are offhand, might be worth phoning them to ask. --yer friendly webmistress 11/27/2001 To add to Scott's comments, I guess I fall into the "love it" crowd. It's very much authentic Tex-Mex (the first time we went, my wife & I were the only non-Hispanics in the fairly crowded restraunt). Serving sizes are generous and the prices are normal for Tex-Mex (ie. fairly low). Of the 3 "downtown Bryan Tex-Mex places" (Dos Hermanes and Zarapes being the other two), Los Nortenos is my favorite. Interesting notes: there is a rivalry between the families that own/run Los Nortenos and Dos Hermanes. Also, I believe Zarapes is owned by the same guy that owns Jose's... Chris Barnes | ||||||
