Walking: Walk north through campus and cross University Avenue to the Northgate area. Turn left and walk up to the last traffic light before Wellborn Road bridges University. Turn right and walk a block or so to Church Street. Turn left and walk a block, and Cafe Eccell will be on your right.

Prices:
Lunch about $7-15, dinner about $10-20.

Veggie-friendly?
Not as much as you'd expect; most dishes have some form of meat in them. Pizza is probably the best bet.

Notes
Cafe Eccell tends to a sort of fusion cuisine, with elements of Latin American, Italian and Asian. With it being one of the trendier spots in B/CS to dine, you'd expect a lot more vegetarian entrees, but it's not so.

Cafe Eccell has a wood-fired pizza oven, and is justly proud of its pizzas. The menu changes frequently, and I don't know how up-to-date the menu on their website is, but it's worth a look to see the types of dishes they serve. The desserts are wonderful and created on-site by their pastry chef. Extensive wine list and full bar. The building is historic, having once been the old College Station City Hall.

It can get a bit crowded during peak lunch and dinner times; to avoid a wait, arrive early or late.

Pricey (for BCS) ($10-$20 plates)

American Continental. Everything from pasta to wood fired pizza. More vegetarian dishes than most places in BCS. (Hey, I'm from Austin--what did you expect?) Good place to take the family (when they're paying) or a guest you're trying to schmooze. Tends to be crowded at peak lunch and dinner hours, and last I knew they don't take reservations. At least, I think they're still open....
